European standards and technical guidelines
A prerequisite for the successful use of ferrous slag is that it meets all technical and environmental requirements set out in European and national standards. Most of these requirements are now harmonised in European standards replacing the national standards relevant to the construction industry and agriculture.
In this respect, any revision of European standards is of great importance, and EUROSLAG is closely involved in several Technical Committees for European standardisation.
Currently, EUROSLAG is collaborating officially with the following technical committees:
CEN/TC 51
Cement and building limes
CEN/TC 154
Aggregates
CEN/TC 227
Road materials
CEN/TC 260
Fertilisers and
liming materials
CEN/TC 350
Sustainability of
construction works
Additionally, members of EUROSLAG are involved in other important committees such as:
CEN/TC 104
Concrete and related products
CEN/TC 351
Construction Products – Assessment of release of dangerous substances
CEN/TC 396
Earthworks
CEN/TC 444
Environmental
characterisation
